A lot has changed since I started this blog a couple years ago… I was living with my parents in Minnesota while I was working on my thesis. I since have finished said thesis (graduated ’11 with an MS in Journalism from Ohio University) and have moved to New York City. I’m still a huge fan of popular culture, as some things will never change. I just had my first ebook published in December 2014… and I’m determined to keep writing.

My blog title is still appropriate and I will continue to deal with having two degrees and being separated from someone/something. Right now I’m separated from my family and some of my friends. I recently figured out that I was also separated from myself. That sounds weird/cryptic, but something finally clicked the other day and I realize I need to look out for me as much as (if not more so than) I do external entities. In addition to continuing to work on my writing, I’m looking for something more to fill in the gaps that were left from experiences of the past. I do not need someone to be my crutch – I am a self-sufficient person who can look after herself – but it would be nice to find someone to share things with. I’m kinda socially awkward, so we’ll see how this goes 🙂

Hi Katie ~ I found your site while posting about the Packers on my blog. It’s nice to meet a fellow Packer fan blogger! We are off to a great start this year, Go Pack! .Shelly.

    1. Hi there! I’m not a huge football fan, but I do enjoy the Packers 🙂 So far, so good… hopefully they’ll be in the Super Bowl again!
